The surroundings

There are many footpaths nearby. Here is the view from 200 metres from the Reservoir. Just half a mile away there is probably the best preserved Central Ordnance Depot in the UK although for many years an industrial estate. Where the pipe from the reservoir arrived at the depot The (dry) watercourse through the neighbouring wood Not quite so dry in winter! It was used to empty the reservoir for maintenance.  In winter The railway that Each day  brought water to the depot before the reservoir was built  And the other end of the tunnel  

Apertures ready for windows to be measured

 Steve Brown of Kompass is our window supplier/installer. He came across to measure the window apertures.

Entrance hall roof - the first stage

 We are installing a stair case from the small entrance lobby down into the hall. In order to do this the concrete roof had to be cut and a new wooden roof structure imposed.  From the outside the structure sits among those ready for the roof lights

Weather and ponds

It had to come, and we had planned to lay the pond liner. The day before the rain came, the liner should have been delivered. It was a day late, and, in the meantime, the pond filled  with water. We set about pumping out the water and laying the pond lining. The slight problem (yet to be resolved) is that, with further rain,  there is a lot more water under the pond liner than on top of it Now there seems to be more water above the lining than beneath it Now extended and liner tucked in

Roof apertures ready for skylights

Kompass, our window supplier, is planning to instal skylights in January. In preparation  Lanecliffe have finished the apertures, ready for further waterproofing by Stace  Roofing
